Store Supervisor

The Store Supervisor supports the day-to-day operation of the store by guiding the team, maintaining service and product standards, and helping ensure each shift runs smoothly. This role requires strong communication, reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced café environment.

THE ROLE

What you will do

Supervise daily store operations during assigned shifts.
Guide Baristas, Cooks, Kitchen Helpers, and other team members in completing daily responsibilities.
Ensure Rovers’ service, product quality, cleanliness, food-safety, and presentation standards are consistently followed.
Assign shift tasks and help organize station coverage based on operational needs.
Monitor attendance, punctuality, breaks, and team readiness during the shift.
Support onboarding, hands-on training, coaching, and development of team members.
Respond to customer concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
Monitor product availability, stock levels, and operational supplies throughout the shift.
Help ensure POS, cash-handling, opening, and closing procedures are completed correctly.
Check store cleanliness, equipment condition, and overall operational readiness.
Identify shortages, unusual wastage, maintenance concerns, or operational issues and report them promptly.
Ensure required shift records, checklists, and reports are completed accurately.
Coordinate with the Store Manager and other supervisors regarding staffing, inventory, and operational concerns.
Step into bar, service, or other operational stations when additional support is needed.
Help maintain a respectful, organized, accountable, and team-oriented work environment.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a café, restaurant, hospitality, retail, or food-service environment.
  • Previous supervisory, team-lead, PIC, or equivalent leadership experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to guide team members and provide clear instructions professionally.
  • Reliable, punctual, responsible, and attentive to detail.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities during busy service periods.
  • Comfortable handling customer concerns and basic operational problems.
  • Able to follow and help enforce company policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Comfortable using POS systems and basic digital reporting tools.
  • Willing to learn Rovers’ operating systems, products, and management standards.
  • Willing to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
  • Physically capable of remaining active and performing regular store duties throughout the shift.
AN ADVANTAGE

Nice to have

  • Previous experience as a Shift Supervisor, Team Leader, PIC, Senior Barista, or similar role.
  • Experience in specialty coffee, cafés, restaurants, or quick-service operations.
  • Knowledge of espresso preparation, beverage service, or basic kitchen operations.
  • Experience with opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and inventory monitoring.
  • Experience training or coaching new employees.
  • Familiarity with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Basic experience with staff scheduling, shift coordination, or daily operational reporting.
  • Strong customer-service and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Interest in developing into a Store Manager or broader operations role.
