What you will do
Ensure service, product quality, cleanliness, food safety, and brand standards are consistently followed.
Guide, coach, and support Baristas, Cooks, and other store team members.
Assign daily responsibilities and ensure operational priorities are completed.
Monitor attendance, punctuality, staffing needs, and overall team performance.
Support employee training, onboarding, performance feedback, and development.
Handle customer concerns professionally and resolve operational issues when appropriate.
Monitor sales performance, product availability, inventory levels, wastage, and other store operating indicators.
Ensure cash handling, POS procedures, deposits, and store records are completed accurately.
Coordinate inventory counts, stock replenishment, receiving, and proper storage of products.
Identify unusual shortages, wastage, maintenance concerns, or operational risks and escalate them when necessary.
Conduct opening and closing checks and ensure required documentation and reports are completed.
Maintain compliance with company policies, food-safety procedures, workplace standards, and management directives.
Coordinate with other Rovers locations and management when staffing, inventory, or operational support is required.
Help create a professional, respectful, accountable, and team-oriented work environment.
Communicate important store developments to management clearly and promptly.
Qualifications
- Previous supervisory, team-lead, management, or equivalent leadership experience in hospitality, retail, food service, or a related environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to make sound operational decisions while following company policies and management direction.
- Comfortable coaching employees, providing feedback, and addressing performance concerns professionally.
- Able to manage several priorities in a fast-paced operating environment.
- Strong sense of accountability, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of sales, inventory, cash handling, scheduling, and store operations.
- Comfortable working with POS systems, digital reports, and basic business software.
- Able to communicate clearly with employees, customers, and senior management.
- Willing to learn and enforce Rovers’ operating systems, standards, and procedures.
- Willing to work flexible schedules based on operational requirements, including weekends and holidays.
- Physically capable of performing regular store duties and remaining active throughout the shift.
Nice to have
- Previous experience managing a café, restaurant, specialty retail store, or quick-service operation.
- Experience supervising both front-of-house and kitchen teams.
- Knowledge of specialty coffee, food service, or hospitality operations.
- Experience with staff scheduling, training, inventory control, and performance management.
- Familiarity with food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and basic labor compliance.
- Experience reviewing sales, labor, wastage, and other operational performance indicators.
- Strong conflict-resolution and customer-recovery skills.
- Experience opening a new store, introducing new operating procedures, or developing a growing team.
- Interest in coffee, food, hospitality, leadership, and building strong store culture.
