What you will do
Properly whisk, measure, and serve matcha with consistent taste, texture, and presentation.
Take customer orders, operate the POS system, and process payments accurately.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary bar and work area.
Restock ingredients, cups, utensils, and other supplies.
Monitor product quality, freshness, and inventory levels.
Explain menu items and recommend drinks based on customer preferences.
Support opening, closing, cleaning, and other daily store operations.
Work closely with the team to provide fast and welcoming service.
Qualifications
- At least a high school graduate or equivalent.
- Willing to learn about matcha, tea preparation, and Japanese-inspired beverages.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
- Able to follow recipes and operating procedures accurately.
- Reliable, punctual, organized, and attentive to detail.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Willing to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
- Physically capable of standing for extended periods and performing regular café duties.
Nice to have
- Previous experience as a barista, café crew member, or food-service employee.
- Knowledge of matcha, Japanese tea, or specialty beverages.
- Experience using an espresso machine, POS system, or drink-preparation equipment.
- Basic food-safety or sanitation training.
- Interest in Japanese food, tea culture, hospitality, or content creation.
