What you will do
Accurately weigh and measure ingredients following standardized recipes and production specifications.
Mix, portion, shape, proof, bake, cool, fill, and finish products according to established procedures.
Follow required baking times, temperatures, yields, and portion standards.
Maintain consistent taste, texture, appearance, and overall product quality.
Prepare ingredients and production mise en place before each baking cycle.
Properly label, date, store, and rotate ingredients and finished products.
Monitor ingredient levels and report low stock, spoilage, production issues, or unusual wastage.
Operate ovens, mixers, scales, refrigerators, and other bakery equipment safely and correctly.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary bakery workstation.
Follow food-safety, hygiene, temperature-control, and storage procedures.
Complete assigned opening, production, cleaning, and closing responsibilities.
Coordinate with the kitchen and store teams to ensure products are prepared according to operational needs.
Qualifications
- At least a high school graduate or equivalent.
- Previous baking, pastry, kitchen, or food-production experience is preferred.
- Basic understanding of baking methods, ingredient measurement, and kitchen sanitation.
- Able to follow recipes, measurements, temperatures, and instructions accurately.
- Detail-oriented and capable of maintaining product consistency.
- Organized, dependable, punctual, and responsible.
- Able to manage multiple production tasks and work efficiently under time constraints.
- Comfortable receiving feedback and following standardized procedures.
- Willing to learn Rovers' recipes, production systems, and quality standards.
- Willing to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
- Physically capable of standing for extended periods and performing regular bakery duties.
Nice to have
- Experience in a professional bakery, pastry kitchen, café, restaurant, or commissary.
- Familiarity with cookies, cakes, breads, laminated pastries, fillings, creams, and other baked products.
- Knowledge of dough fermentation, proofing, mixing methods, and temperature control.
- Experience operating commercial mixers and ovens.
- Culinary, baking, pastry, or food-safety training.
- Experience with batch production, portion control, inventory monitoring, and waste reduction.
- An interest in product development and experimenting with new flavors and bakery concepts.
